From women who eat everything to men who hike regularly; Belgian singles have a clear preference for what they like to see in a partner. This is evident from research by dating site Meetic among almost 17,000 Belgian singles. The dating site analyzed which criteria are important to Belgian singles in their search for a partner. The results have now been released for both women and men.

The ideal Belgian woman
Belgian singles like attentive and funny women. If she is also a bit sporty, that would be great. An animal lover does very well, as does a rock music listener, and she is preferably an omnivore, because singles are put off by Belgian women who are too picky about what they want to eat. And although there is a lower income requirement for women than for men, a minimum income of 20,000 euros is considered the lower limit.
Since Belgian singles do not only have a preference for the inside, they also investigated what their preference is for the outside. How fat or thin she should be is not stated, but Meetic did find out what the desired external characteristics should be. The singles have a clear preference for a woman with blond hair and blue, expressive eyes. But that’s not all, an attractive smile is also a bonus.

The ideal Belgian man
Male candidates are expected to earn a lot more annually than women. They are expected to earn more than 35,000 euros per year. The traditional division of roles therefore still exists in the preferences of singles. But how are men supposed to earn this? According to the research, Belgian singles prefer a job as a lawyer.
Furthermore, it would also be very nice if he generally eats healthy and goes hiking regularly, in other words has a healthy lifestyle. In addition, he scores plus points if he likes traveling and sightseeing, but also action movies and comedies. If we look at the appearance, then the preference is not surprising: dark brown hair, green or blue eyes and of course that beautiful smile.
The Belgian version of the Dutch Lexa conducted the research just before Valentine’s Day. In total, the search criteria of 16,837 Belgian singles were examined to find out which characteristics typify the ideal Belgian man and woman. Do you not meet these characteristics?
