Of course, texting is an easy way to stay in touch with each other all day long. You don’t have to call each other every time and yet you can have good conversations together . That’s why it has become the most popular means of communication of the 21st century .
It may be that you or the person you are texting with is unable to call. Using chat apps, you can still get your message across – even if you don’t have time to talk to each other at the same time. It is fast, convenient and effective.
When it comes to dating, the conversation often starts via the dating app. Do you like it? Then you switch to WhatsApp. It is the communication route that many singles follow. But where many go on a date afterwards, others get stuck in texting. They never get further than texting. They end up in an app relationship that leads nowhere.

7 Reasons to Stop Texting
The truth is that dating apps are flooded with singles who aren’t all looking for a date. Some are there for the ego boost, others for the Sunday afternoon entertainment, and still others want to date but ultimately don’t dare. To avoid wasting more time than necessary, here are 7 reasons to stop texting.
1. You only get short, meaningless answers
One of the biggest reasons to stop texting is when the responses you get back go from full sentences to single words. When it becomes a one-sided conversation and you are doing all the talking or typing, it is time to say goodbye. This is someone who doesn’t want to put in the effort for you, even if you do. This doesn’t mean you are not worth it, it just means that the person is simply not worth you.

2. You get no response
When you no longer get a response to your texts, it is also time to stop texting. Of course, getting a response says something, but the lack of a response may be just as telling. There is no need to make any more effort for someone who is no longer making any effort. Bombarding someone with messages is definitely not the solution. Try to convince yourself that you can simply not send anything anymore.
3. You are the only one who starts the conversation
If you are always the one who starts the conversation or asks the most questions, it is also a sign of the times. You need to find someone who is just as interested in you as you are in the other person. It is about getting to know each other and putting in the same amount of effort. You are not supposed to be chasing someone to get interest and attention.
4. You haven’t been in touch for a long time
If it has been quite some time since the last time you texted, it can also be an indication that it is time to stop texting. This usually indicates that the person you are dealing with is not interested enough in you. There is not much point in continuing to text.

5. You get messages at odd times
Also, keep an eye on the person you’re texting with if they only text in the evening. Chances are they’re only texting because they’re bored. This is exactly when it’s time to cut it off.
6. You only text each other when the other has had something to drink
If you only hear from someone when they are drunk, this is also a good time to stop texting. Where you used to be woken up in the middle of the night by a drunk person, this is now done by texting. This also clearly indicates that the person you are texting is not really taking you seriously.

7. You only text each other
When the contact between you is only via the app and you never call or meet up, it is also time to put an end to it. In the beginning, texting is a great way to get into conversation with each other. Later in a relationship it is also fine to communicate, but during dating it should not be the only way of communicating. This is a sign that it is an app relationship, and reason enough to end it.
If you want to end an app relationship, there are several reasons why you would do so. Not stopping and continuing to text will eventually lead to disappointment. It will end anyway, now or later. Of course, it is better to prevent the disappointment and possible heartbreak. “Prevention is better than cure”, they say.
By stopping app relationships, you are open to new potential partners again. It gives you time to start a healthy, real relationship with someone. Not a virtual relationship that is limited to texting.
