In the collection, Hirst attempted to reflect on the connection between goddess worship, veneration of nature, and respect for women.

Leather capes, slightly longer at the back than at the front, were dedicated to Diana, the goddess of hunting, femininity and fertility, the same one that Maria Grazia Chiuri meditated on this season in the Christian Dior collection . Details of the outfits of Hecate, Diana’s close ally in myths, served as a model for the clip-on fasteners on the black jacket with a strict cut, while silk images with metal inserts, similar to chainmail, symbolized Fides, the goddess of harmony and fidelity.

One after another, models came out into the garden wearing translucent knitted dresses, hand-knitted from silk thread; sets of brutal leather tops and delicate skirts made of crushed silk; floor-length dresses reminiscent of the starry sky, with bags to match.

The collection’s central pieces were all-leather looks in natural shades – black, milky and terracotta.

Hearst mixes the same leather (one of the designer’s favorite materials) with thick matte cotton, crushed silk and gold brocade, complementing the looks with classic pumps or cowboy boots.

The denim was made from hemp, as is traditional for the brand, and decorated with leather appliqués, while the intricate fringe was made from knitted threads and strips of cut leather.

As always with Gabriela Hearst , the collection featured plenty of knit textures, lightweight silks, crochet, signature plastic crew necks and casual cotton layering.
