The Chanel spring 2025 couture show was an anniversary one and celebrated the 110th anniversary of the Haute Couture line , launched by Gabrielle Chanel in 1915. The location for the show was the brand’s traditional Parisian Grand Palais. The pavilion was built in the form of a continuous loop, which at the top represented the logo – crossed letters CC.
Ahead of the opening of a new chapter for the house with the arrival of Mathieu Blasi, who will soon show his first collection for the Ready-To-Wear brand , the team speaks of “constant renewal and rethinking of timeless charm” and creates a couture collection that is light, youthful and charming.
The first thing I noticed was the palette of shades. Pastel mint green, soft pink, lavender, coral, yellow colors not only create a spring mood, but can also act as color therapy.

The brand’s signature tweed suit was adapted for a younger audience in this collection: skirts were shortened above the knee and paired with cropped jackets. Rarely has the classic Chanel suit from the 1960s been reimagined in a way that a young girl could wear.

High fashion means handwork, embroidery, feathers and unique techniques. All of this was in the collection, but not so much that it would ruin the casual style. Lightweight tweed sets, short dresses and jumpsuits are also suitable for everyday wear.

The evening line — floor-length dresses made of shiny organza, taffeta, satin and chiffon, floor-length tuxedos and lush capes — also turned out to be light, flowing and full of movement. I paid attention to the dresses with an open back and a top layer of transparent mesh.

Without a creative director, it would be hard to expect a strong, significant collection from the house, but it is always nice to see calm, optimism and confidence on the catwalk. In any case, we know that Mathieu Blasi and his endless creativity are already on the way, and exciting times are just around the corner.

The finale of the show was tender and life-affirming: Lulu Tenney walked out onto the catwalk in a traditional wedding dress – a mini-dress with a train, a silver jacket with a satin bow and a veil attached to a “tablet” strewn with flowers.
