It’s not often that New York Fashion Week has such a big event: after a 6-year hiatus, the Calvin Klein brand has returned to the fashion scene . Hoping to revive the fame and success of SK, the owners of the brand have entrusted the management of the house to a woman for the first time – 41-year-old Italian Veronica Leoni, who has experience working at Jil Sander, Celine under Phoebe Philo and The Row .

Archives are usually a big theme for these types of updates, but the only thing Leonie pulled from the Calvin Klein catalog was the slingback flats. She said she wanted to rely more on intuition when creating designs.
“I really tried to tap into the original energy of the brand and tried to explore everyday wardrobe to give it both a cinematic and realistic feel.”
Minimalism is the key direction of everything under the name Calvin Klein . Leoni’s debut was full of minimalism and references to the 90s: monochrome looks in beautiful gray from jackets and knee-length skirts; exemplary trouser suits; lapel-less jackets with a round neck and pencil skirts; strict dresses with ¾ sleeves and a stand-up collar.

The strict line was diluted with satin sets, reminiscent of Klein’s mother-of-pearl combinations; satin suits in a pajama style; coats of curly raffia on the naked body; images in a milky color with a sailor cap; colorful outfits made of shaggy wool; voluminous cape collars and gold ballet flats.

We were pleased with the numerous variations on the theme of very utilitarian outerwear – from classic beige trench coats to elegant coats and ponchos with voluminous scarf collars.

The minimalist color palette, however, still included shades of butter, lavender, pink, blueberry, and even bright scarlet.

I noticed the translucent skirts with cashmere tops; multi-layered “skirt-tunic-top” looks; chainmail dresses made from thousands of sequins; pleated dresses with fringe at the hem; handbags in the shape of a bottle of the iconic CK One perfume , which is already predicted to become a hit for the new Calvin Klein .

Calvin Klein himself, 82, attended the show and happily posed for the camera in the arms of Kate Moss and Christy Turlington, who starred in the brand’s advertising campaigns in the late 90s.
