When American designer Brandon Maxwell started his career in 2015, his calling card was evening dresses. Ten years later, he said: “When I started, I wanted to be the dress for my customers. Now I want to be the sweater and trousers they put on in the morning.”

The Fall/Winter 2025/2026 collection proved these words true – many of the outfits Maxwell showed could have come straight from the catwalk onto the street. There was denim, really cozy knitwear, and elegant checked wool coats.

And what about the evening gowns that were Maxwell’s signature when he launched in 2015? They’re gone. Instead, the designer shows off a sleeveless dress in black ruffled silk, layering it over a coat in the same fabric with a hood that he trims with sporty drawstrings, for a modern, formal look.
