Everyone experiences moments in life where your positive outlook on life is tested. Whether it’s things that come from daily stress, deadlines at work, or more important things, the way you look at life can make a big difference in how you handle these challenges.
If you are being tested in life because things aren’t made easy for you, you can try a simple routine that will help you stay positive:
1. Stay grateful
Write down every morning what you are grateful for despite everything. You can start with 3 things. No matter how hard it is, there are always things you can be grateful for. For example, the sun shining, birds singing, dear friends, etc. Research shows that people who show their gratitude by means of a gratitude journal feel happier and healthier than people who do not.
2. Give compliments to others
The best way to forget about your own problems is to be kind to someone else. If you are feeling stressed or overwhelmed, send one of your friends a card or message telling them how much they mean to you. Research shows that when you improve the mood of others, your own mood improves too. So they are happy and you are happy!

3. Count your victories
End each day by writing down what you overcame today. For example, you didn’t feel like going for a walk or exercising, but you went anyway = victory! You were dreading a phone call, but you called anyway = victory! It’s good to fall asleep knowing that something went well today.
Your attitude is so very important! Life doesn’t get easier, you get stronger! And staying positive is a way to stay strong through all the challenges we face in life.
