The story that creative director Maximillian Davies focused on for the spring/summer 2025 collection was dance. The designer’s mood board featured a 1950 photo of Salvatore Ferragamo trying on shoes for the American dancer and choreographer Katherine Dunham. Next to it were shots of Rudolf Nureyev, who apparently danced in Ferragamo shoes, and several ballet photos of the Dutch dancer Hans van Manen. The final touch was a nod to the paintings of the Italian conceptual artist Piero Manzoni: Davies said he was drawn to the tactility and texture of Manzoni’s surfaces.
So the curtain opens: loose belted trench coats and sports jackets and slit skirts, made from crinkled fabric, create a crispy crust-like feel as seen on Manzoni canvases , while shoes with satin ribbons create a ballet costume-like atmosphere.

A series of billowing dresses and parachute trench coats followed. Styled with the same satin-ribboned shoes, they created a sense of dance in motion.

The ubiquitous shaggy feather fringe crept onto the necklines of dresses, bags, shorts and skirts made of washed denim; the same fringe, only long and elastic, continued the hem of an elegant dress; and an asymmetrical neckline, emphasizing the shape of the body, adorned coats and sheath dresses.

Leather, the brand’s strong point, appeared in figuratively perforated pieces, and in addition to dusty, earthy tones, ballet pink, Yves Klein blue and bright scarlet were spotted.
