For the Ferragamo Pre-Fall 2025 collection, Maximilian Davis turned to his Caribbean heritage, with his mood board featuring images taken by Malian photographer Malick Sidibé in the 1970s.
Taking the most iconic trends from that era, the designer tried to embody them through the prism of laconic minimalism, which he himself brought to Ferragamo : “I wanted each piece to be elegant, but at the same time spontaneous and easy to wear.”

Davis turned to high-end tailoring, one of the brand’s strengths, to achieve an effortless polish. Corduroy and suede, for example, are now much more polished, as seen in pussy-bow blouses, flared trousers, classic trench coats and capes.

The checkered total looks suggest the color of the year, mocha mousse, while draped dresses suggest Yves Klein blue, and bottle green looks mix well with chocolate and milky white.

Among other things, I noticed a balloon skirt paired with a tuxedo coat, a mustard dress with a low waist, a two-piece trouser suit with a long zippered jacket, a snow-white set of a floor-length skirt and blouse, and satin evening dresses with lace inserts.

As always with Davis, the accessories deserve special attention: velvet mules reminiscent of Moroccan babouches; perforated bags that are worn two at a time; slingbacks with ball-shaped heels; the signature Hug Bag , made, among other things, from velveteen and python skin; and elegant boots with elastic ankle bands.
