Strands of pearls wrapped around the entire body; a yoke completely covered in rhinestones; nylon socks with embroidery that gather into an accordion or a wig made of leather fringe. Looking through the spring 2025 collections from the Milan catwalks, I caught myself thinking that designers are urging us in every way not to lose heart and to seek inspiration in creative experiments and new styling methods, because even business style now allows itself to be unusual and ironic.
So, I’m summing up the results of another Fashion Week and telling you about 5 key trends for next spring according to Italian couturiers.
More is better!
Why be convinced that fashion is clearly lacking fresh ideas? Let’s use ideas from the catwalks and create creative images from current trends. The most reliable assistant in this is decor on clothes and accessories. Let’s look at examples and catch inspiration in the photo gallery – from the sensible Emporio Armani with delicate sequin embroidery, bright satin belts and contrasting ties to massive gold neck hoops at Missoni and “Musketeer” hats with feathers at Marni.

All life is in motion
The ubiquitous fringe has already completely conquered three out of four Fashion Weeks. You must admit, this detail not only sets the right vector of movement, but also adds a special flavor to your outfit. Designers offer us any options – from the usual fringe fluttering while walking on the hem, like Fendi, The Attico and Vivetta , to thin threads covering the entire outfit, like Dolce&Gabbana, Moschino, Antonio Marras and Sportmax. Let’s not forget about bags, shoes and scarves, which have also been attacked by dynamic decor.

Beauty in complexity
If you are one of those who are not afraid to go beyond the ordinary and love bold decisions, then deconstruction is exactly what you need. We are offered to rebel against classical canons through asymmetry, like Versace and Max Mara ; the effect of surprise, for example, the absence of one sleeve, like Moschino, Luisa Spagnoli and Philosophy Di Lorenzo Serafini ; abstract silhouettes, like Sportmax ; or transformable items, like Ferragamo and Bottega Veneta .

There is a time for work and a time for play
In the context of the office-core trend, designers have rethought the business style, which has significantly pushed aside the pajama style. An important detail is that it is not at all necessary to go to the office. This season, couturiers continue to discuss the topic of modern uniforms and offer a variety of styling options: from emphatically sensual and feminine, like Dolce&Gabbana, Max Mara and Luisa Spognoli , to frankly ironic images of a business lady with a baguette on her head, like Petar Petrov . Maybe this is the owner of a bakery going to the bank for a loan?

Smooth vs. Rough Texture
Leather from head to toe is still a hot trend! Moreover, leather is still ahead of suede, although the latter has already made a loud statement this fall. This was confirmed by the Milan catwalks, where both textures appeared in abundance. In addition to classic trench coats and coats in basic colors, Gucci, Tod’s and Jil Sander offered outerwear in rich shades, Bottega Veneta and Roberto Cavalli showed skirts and suits made of python leather, and Sportmax – dresses made of the finest perforated leather, which can only be recognized upon closer inspection.
