In this article, we will talk about working techniques that will help you look more expensive! I will reveal my personal TOP-13, and everyone will be able to choose something most suitable for themselves!
And we’ll start with accessories!
The first accessory that always looks expensive is a bag with a rigid frame.
It’s all about the shape, and also the fact that this type of bag is usually associated with elegance and poise.
Firstly, we are talking about the clarity of lines and geometry. It is the rigid frame that provides the bag with a clear shape, be it a baguette, trapezoid or crescent model.
Geometry in this case gives the image structure, composure and visual “expensiveness”.
Secondly, a bag with a rigid frame looks more presentable, no matter how full it is.
That is, with such an accessory your image will be neater, unlike soft bags, which can become deformed or look completely “sad” when they are half empty.
Thirdly, such a bag is associated with classics and elegance. Bags with a rigid frame are worn by representatives of high society, and accordingly, this association will involuntarily be transferred to the owner of the bag, that is, to you.
Also, don’t forget about the quality of materials and fittings; no matter how “structured” the bag is, poor-quality leatherette and fittings of an unnatural shade will always give it away.

To make a hard-shell bag look more expensive, it’s also important to consider its size.
Choose one that suits your height and build.
If you are a plus size, consider medium and large bags,

If you are short and look quite fragile, then a small handbag would be more suitable.
The second accessory is a belt.
A belt isn’t just there to hold your waistband in place, it can also have a significant impact on how your overall look is perceived.
Firstly, the belt draws attention to the narrowest part of the body – the waist, creating a clear and feminine line.
It helps to create a harmonious silhouette, even if you are wearing loose-fitting clothes. And for an “expensive” look, proportions play an important role.
Secondly, the belt adds a collected look,
but its absence, on the contrary, can create the impression of carelessness or incompleteness.
And thirdly, a belt is first and foremost an accessory, which means its role is to emphasize a sense of style, make the overall look more thoughtful and stylish, and also stretch your legs!
When choosing a belt, do not forget about its width, which should correspond to your figure type.
Because a narrow belt on a plus size will not add an expensive look, just like a too wide belt on fragile and slender girls.

Next up are leather gloves.
In the cold season, this accessory helps complete the look and also keeps you warm!
But few people realize that leather gloves instantly add luxury, sophistication and elegance to an outfit and act not only as protection from the cold, but also as a touch of luxury.
Genuine leather is a noble and durable material that always looks expensive and presentable.
Also, the presence of leather gloves in the image speaks of attention to detail and the desire to create a complete and harmonious outfit.
And this, in turn, testifies to good taste.
But don’t think that any leather gloves will evoke such associations.
If your gloves are physically tired and it’s time to put them away from your wardrobe, or they are outdated, that is, they have a lot of unnecessary details and decorations, then they will definitely not add to your cost.
❌❌❌
The next working technique is modern decorations.
Trendy earrings, pendants, rings and bracelets show that you follow style and understand modern trends.
And therefore, an image with such jewelry will always look fresh and, as a result, more expensive than an image with outdated jewelry.
❌❌❌
Modern earrings or chokers, bracelets or brooches with a current design look more attractive and sophisticated visually.
And also, current jewelry, as a rule, is distinguished by a laconic design and the absence of excessive pretentiousness. Today, designers emphasize graceful forms and minimalism, which, in turn, instantly adds elegance to the image and makes it more expensive.
And finally, jewelry always adds completeness and harmony to an image, they correctly place accents and make your outfit stylish!
We’re done with accessories, let’s move on to the fifth point, and that’s appearance.
We will start with light and appropriate makeup, because it is this that helps you look more expensive.
Firstly, light makeup is about an even tone, a healthy blush and a radiant look, and this is always associated with well-groomed appearance.
Secondly, appropriate makeup does not hide natural beauty, but only emphasizes it.
The absence of a thick layer of foundation or too bright eyeshadow creates the impression of appropriateness for the situation, which is valued more highly in the context of an expensive look.
And thirdly, light makeup allows you to create the effect of a rested and healthy face. This is achieved by using light, radiant shades that visually refresh the skin and make it look younger.
But heavy, bright makeup will, on the contrary, make you look older, make your face look tired, and it often looks out of place and provocative in everyday life, which is immediately off-putting.
❌❌❌
Here, of course, we are talking specifically about the inappropriateness of the situation, since bright but carefully applied makeup can look good at evening events.
✅✅✅
Next – clean hair and easy styling.
Clean hair itself is a sign of neatness and grooming. It shows that you pay attention to your appearance and take care of yourself. And easy styling only emphasizes this grooming, giving the hair shape and volume.
In addition, easy styling looks natural and relaxed, and such simplicity and elegance are always associated with luxury.
But dirty or unkempt hair automatically cheapens the image, as do overly complicated hairstyles, which today can look old-fashioned.
❌❌❌
Another important component of appearance is posture, as it directly affects how others perceive us.
Firstly, a straight back and squared shoulders are also perceived as a sign of self-confidence. Such posture involuntarily attracts glances and creates the impression of a strong and successful personality.
Slouching, on the contrary, creates the impression of insecurity and sometimes even complexes.
Secondly, healthy posture allows you to move smoothly and gracefully, which adds elegance and grace to your image. This is especially important for creating a luxurious and expensive image.
And thirdly, correct posture allows even clothes to fit better and look more advantageous!
And let’s not forget that a person with a straight back will always look more fit, energetic and attractive than a slouched one.
And the last thing is manicure.
Well-groomed hands and a neat manicure are no less important elements that can transform the image and add a sense of luxury and elegance.
But, by the way, often girls and women, striving for perfection, direct all their attention to the face, forgetting about the skin of the hands, which, like the face, requires attention and care.
Hands are also a business card!
And unkempt hands with peeling or overgrown manicure and dry skin create the impression of carelessness and unkemptness, which will definitely cheapen the whole image.
❌❌❌
As for bright manicure, depending on your mood and personal style, a single-color red or any other, for example, blue manicure is appropriate, but remember that minimalism always looks better than complex designs!
They will always make you feel like you’ve overdone it! This is the case if you want to look fun, playful, but not expensive:(
And we go further, and the next working technique is to bare thin parts of the body. I want to say right away – with bare parts of the body you will not look cheaper either, but using these techniques, the image often looks more thoughtful and stylish.
For example, these can be rolled-up sleeves. You can gather the sleeves of both a shirt and a jumper.
And this seemingly insignificant element will immediately give the image a casual elegance, and all because the rolled-up sleeves expose the wrists, and accordingly the hands look more graceful, fragile and feminine.
Secondly, you can unbutton a few top buttons on your shirt and expose your neck and décolleté area. The look will become fresher and lighter!
An open neck always looks very feminine and sophisticated, and to make an unobtrusive accent on it, you can add jewelry as a finishing touch.
Consider a minimalist pendant or choker for this. The main thing is that the decoration is neat and does not overload the image.
The next stylistic detail, which is not noticeable at first glance, but is very important, is fabrics.
Take trousers for example.
Jeans are certainly a versatile and practical item of clothing. They can also make you look expensive, but they are used more often, meaning you will be less unique, and they are more often associated with relaxation.
And if the goal is to create an image that exudes confidence and sophistication, it is worth paying attention to alternative options, for example, trousers with tucks.
Trousers with tucks, made of high-quality materials, have a number of advantages and allow you to create more expensive images than with jeans. It is clear that there are always exceptions, in jeans, as I already said, you can also look presentable, but in trousers it is easier, simply because they are worn less often, although they are not inferior in comfort at all!
Trousers create a more elegant silhouette, soft fabrics fall smoothly and neatly from the hips, while jeans sit more rigidly.
And the visual effect of trousers is much stronger.
Plus associations. We associate jeans with casual style, and pleated trousers with something more formal and elegant. At the same time, as I already said, you don’t lose comfort at all!
Therefore, by replacing only the belt item in your looks, you can already add luxury and sophistication to your outfits!
Also, undoubtedly, materials such as silk and satin increase the degree of elegance, so feel free to consider adding silk blouses, satin skirts and dresses to your wardrobe! They will also lead you into the right mood:)
If we talk about accessories and shoes, then choose genuine leather and suede, these materials will look more noble and expensive! And also, as I already said, if you take a bag – one that holds its shape will look more collected.
The eighth working technique is multi-layering.
Proper layering not only keeps you warm in cold weather, but also adds depth, dynamism and individuality to your look, making you stand out from the crowd.
She demonstrates attention to detail, a sense of style and the ability to combine different wardrobe elements into a harmonious whole.
A single layer of clothing, no matter how stylish and high-quality, often looks flat and static.
Layering adds visual interest by playing with textures, colors and volumes.
Let’s look at a simple example: a combination of a T-shirt and a cardigan.
Both the cardigan and the T-shirt are super basic and understandable items.
However, if we combine them, we will get a more interesting and dynamic image, since the first layer will create a small accent and make the eye catch.
Plus, adding even more layers is an opportunity to show that you’ve put some thought into your outfit and not just thrown on the first thing you came across.
Next, let’s talk about prints.
If your goal is to create an image that includes a printed item, then you should pay attention to neutral stripes, checks or unobtrusive embroidery.
When it comes to checks and stripes, these patterns are not only timeless, but also have the ability to add elegance to an outfit.
Firstly, both stripes and checks are associated with certain styles and eras, which, in turn, are historically associated with wealth and good taste.
Secondly, stripes and checks are relatively simple prints that do not overload the image and allow you to focus on the quality of the fabric and cut.
And thirdly, these prints are easy to combine with any color and texture, which allows you to wear them both to a business meeting and for a walk.
A few words about the stripe, you can choose either a thinner one or, conversely, a wider one.
If we talk about a cage, then choose a non-contrasting pattern, it will look more expensive and add status to the image.
And we move on, and I would like to dedicate the next point to cutting.
Because a laconic cut and clean lines in clothing are the foundation on which an expensive and stylish set is built.
Straight and semi-fitted cuts create a balanced and harmonious image, repeating the contours of the figure, but without being tight or constricting.
Also, the absence of unnecessary details and complex cuts allows texture and color to be revealed.
But with such complex dresses it is almost impossible to get at least a somewhat modern look, not to mention a status one. The rule is: the simpler, the better!
In addition, it is worth noting that clothes of simple silhouettes will always be relevant and will allow you to look stylish and elegant in any situation and at any time!
And to make sure your look isn’t boring, use accessories, including those we’ve already talked about today – a bag, belt, and modern jewelry.
You can also add a silk scarf or fashion glasses!
However, this does not mean that you should exclude oversized clothing from your life and wear only straight and semi-fitted cuts.
Oversize can also be the basis for creating an expensive, elegant and at the same time comfortable look, but here you need a competent approach.
The secret to “expensive oversize” is balance.
It makes sense that if you wear oversized clothes at the top and bottom, you will drown in them and become shapeless, but this does not look expensive.
❌
But if you play with proportions, you can get a very stylish and cool look!
However, in this case, I recommend avoiding sports styling, that is, an oversized hoodie will not add to your cost, no matter how you style it. It’s about something else!
❌
But a shirt with a looser, more relaxed cut always looks much better and more expensive than a semi-fitted one!
And now let’s go back to proportions again.
As I already said, the main rule of “expensive oversize” is to avoid total volume.
To do this, you can use alternation, this is one of the simplest and at the same time effective methods!
For example, a loose jacket can be worn with skinny jeans or trousers,
and wide trousers, on the contrary, with a neat semi-fitted polo or long sleeve.
I think you get the idea!
In addition, you can expose fragile parts of our body, such as wrists, décolleté, neck or ankles, so the image will also look lighter!
And we move on to the penultimate point, and here I would like to touch on outerwear.
Because in spring it plays a key role in creating an image.
No matter how stylish and expensive we are dressed, while it is cool outside, we are all forced to hide our outfits under warm outerwear.
And at this moment it becomes our calling card and forms the first impression, setting the tone for the whole image.
I think everyone will agree that it is often more difficult to look expensive in a jacket than in a coat.
This is because the jacket, especially with a hood, is generally associated with a relaxed casual style and often has a sporty feel.
While a coat, regardless of length and style, unless of course you take it with a hood, always adds elegance and sophistication to the image.
A jacket with a hood is certainly a practical and comfortable option for changeable spring weather. But it, like a hoodie, is about something else!
And if your goal is to create an expensive look and still wear a jacket, then you should carefully approach the choice of model.
Then consider jackets with a shirt collar, such models look more elegant and neat.
In spring, there are no more severe frosts and strong winds, which means that a modern headdress can easily replace your hood.
And secondly, choose a straight-cut jacket without unnecessary details – for example, flashy fittings and bright logos. Jackets with an English collar are perfect for an expensive aesthetic!
And also, such a simple and basic jacket will easily go with trousers, skirts and dresses!
And the last thing for today is color in the image!
In this section we will talk about subdued colors, since they are the ones associated with high prices and will be more combinatory in looks!
In addition, muted and pastel shades do not shout about themselves and do not attract attention, but also create a feeling of self-confidence.
Let’s look at three expensive color combinations, starting with the beige and blue tandem.
This choice is ideal for those who value elegance, sophistication and impeccable taste.
Blue paired with beige will transform any look, adding a touch of luxury and sophistication.
Next up are brown and white/milky.
This color combination looks very cozy and expensive, but is suitable for any occasion.
It is appropriate both in everyday life and at a business meeting or evening event.
And the third combination is milky/white with shades of green.
Green is the color of nature, symbolizing calmness and harmony.
Milky and white, in turn, are associated with purity and refined simplicity.
And together they create an atmosphere of peace, nobility and elegance!
I would also like to highlight monochrome separately, as it always looks expensive and stylish.
Firstly, this is due to the fact that monochrome creates a sense of integrity and harmony.
And secondly, when there is no color mix in the image, attention automatically switches to the texture of the fabrics and the cut of the clothes, which will say everything for you! If, of course, there is something to show here:)
And I suggest we finish our article little by little! Today we looked at the TOP-13 working techniques that will help you look expensive this spring. I hope this article inspired you to new looks and maybe even experiments with your style!
And I say goodbye to you, see you in the next article, bye!
