Carolina Herrera creative director Wes Gordon took over the brand in 2019, breathing new life into it and literally pulling it out of oblivion.

As always with Herrera, the collection can hardly be called Ready-to-Wear – first of all, it contains evening dresses and couture dresses for the red carpet.
The show opened with a series of rather graphic and laconic black and white looks.

Next came black and white looks, dotted with polka dots, a print that has defined the brand’s DNA since its founding in the ’80s. Among them were lacy crochet dresses; a skirt and jacket made from a multitude of petals; luxurious bustier dresses; and a set of a blouse and a tight skirt with a deep slit.

Polka dots decorated high-heeled shoes, bags, clutches and were very harmoniously “friends” with, again, a black and white floral print.

In addition to the polka dot and floral patterns, Gordon opted for the houndstooth print, also in classic black and white. However, this time the palette was diluted with naive daisies made of precious stones and pink and scarlet satin shoes.

Gradually, candy pink began to dominate the catwalk, sharing the lead with one of the season’s favorites — bright red. This series was completed by two couture outfits: a scarlet bustier dress with a voluminous taffeta skirt and a weightless floor-length dress made of thousands of blossoming and already blossoming buds in a delicate shade of sakura flowers.

Peas, rose bushes and houndstooth were followed by poppies, daisies and then a few monochrome looks.

The apotheosis of the show was the brand’s signature rich, bright yellow color, which appeared as a scattering of flowers on dresses, intricate hand embroidery on a white jacket, and also existed solo and in a duet with black.
