Being in a relationship with a man is easy, but finding out if he cares about you? Even in the best and most beautiful relationships, reading a man’s mind is quite tricky . Sometimes you think he does, but other times you’re not so sure. And at times like that you can wonder: does he care about me?

1. He tries to understand you
No matter how irrational you are, whether it’s the stress of your workday or your hormonal fluctuations, he makes an effort to understand you. He doesn’t disapprove of your opinion, but asks why you think that way. And even if you have the most bizarre explanation, he doesn’t get angry. He wants to understand, because he cares about you.
2. He listens to what you say
Some men claim to have a ‘listening ear’, but then they ‘hear’ you, but they don’t ‘listen’. It goes in one ear and out the other: what you really have to say goes completely past them. If he really cares about you, he will pay attention to what you say. He is genuinely interested and even offers solutions or advice, because he wants to be of some help to you.
3. It’s us, not me and you
One of the secret techniques of a successful relationship is thinking in terms of a team. Because what is best for him, is not necessarily the best for you and the relationship. A career opportunity on the other side of the country, or a night out with the boys; he includes you in everything he does. Ups and downs are part of life. Who doesn’t have an ‘off-day’? Those days when nothing works and everything goes wrong. You’re angry, scared or sad. No matter how you feel, he wants you to feel better. When you’re feeling down, he does his best to help you get back on your feet. He does that because he cares about you.
8. He remembers what you say and do
It seems like a small detail, but if he remembers all the little things you said to him, it’s a sign that you matter to him. Often we don’t even notice it, because it’s said casually, somewhere in the middle of a conversation. “Oh yeah,” you think; “I did say that once.” But you probably forget how special it actually is that he remembered it, because he cares about you.
9. He makes a good impression on those around you
Your uncle is really just an annoying man who likes to talk about nothing but himself. But your boyfriend or husband talks to him like it’s his brother. And every Sunday your grandfather repeats his stories about ‘the old days’, but he still keeps listening. He does this because he knows how important these people are to you, so he continues to do his best to leave a good impression on them.

10. He wants you to meet his friends and family
Is it still just a young love and you don’t know where you stand? If he cares about you and you are special to him , he wants you to meet his friends and family. It’s a sign that he actually has a future with you in mind. And the fact that he wants to show you off to friends and family is also a signal not to be missed; he thinks you’re great and wants everyone to know it.
11. He gets a little jealous
Most people agree that if he is jealous, you mean much more to him than a friend. Sure, you can be jealous as a friend, but if you are in a relationship, healthy jealousy is linked to the fact that he cares about you.
But not all jealousy is the same; the trick is to recognize it. Jealousy as a “fear” of losing someone is a sign that he cares about you. Jealousy as a means of power is not.
12. You are part of his future plans
At some point in the relationship you talk about the future. Do you want children? Does he want to live together ? And how does he see his life, five years from now, or twenty years from now? His thoughts and expectations about the future tell you a lot about his feelings.
You can find out fairly easily whether he cares about you by asking about his future plans. Because if he really cares about you, emigrating to Brazil is not an option if you have indicated that you always want to stay in the Netherlands.
