Given our climate, each of you probably already has a couple of warm jackets and coats, but why not pay attention to the main trends of the season that will help you break out of the usual winter rut? I am a big supporter of reasonable consumption and stylistic uniformity in clothing, but you must admit, it is nice to change something from time to time.
The main trends of winter coats 2024 vary from time-tested traditional models to spectacular duffle coats and quilted shell coats. I have collected for you 7 of the most relevant models of outerwear for the autumn-winter season 2024/2025.
Cape
The cape is the main favorite of the season. In a long version, like Bottega Veneta, Chloè, Valentino and Khaite , it will successfully replace a classic coat. And a short cape is a universal thing. It is suitable for both cool evenings, when there is no desire to put on a jacket or blazer, and for the last warm autumn days, when you still want lightness. The simplest option is to throw a wide scarf or stole over your shoulders and pin it with a brooch or pin – and your designer cape is ready!

Quilted shell coats
It would seem that quilted outerwear can no longer surprise anyone, because it is a classic. But lately, quilted coats and jackets have become very popular due to their interesting oval shape, similar to a shell. We see these cozy models at LESEL, Everlane and Frankie Shop . However, the timeless classics, such as Moncler, Burberry and Ferragamo , remain in trend . The big plus of such coats is that they are absolutely universal and will be a great addition to other elements of your winter wardrobe, such as a simple turtleneck or a cozy cashmere sweater.

The duffle coat became the star of the Prada show last season: then Kendall Jenner walked the catwalk in a long camel-colored hooded coat. Following Miuccia, other designers remembered this undeservedly forgotten coat model, for which we thank them very much. If you want something special, but you are not ready to change the classics, pay attention to outerwear with an interesting cut. This season, the trend is for models with “their own character” – coats with fringe, like Balenciaga and Simkhai ; with a scarf, like Sea ; with contrasting buttons, like Tom Ford and Liberowe ; or, for example, a feminine version of the peacoat model from Bottega with a funnel collar and a silhouette that fits the waist. The best salvation from the cold will be cozy jackets and down jackets, in which you can wrap yourself like a blanket. Designers have been offering such models for several seasons now and even give them names to match. For example, the Norma Kamali jacket was named “sleeping bag”. The focus is on models with a voluminous shawl collar turning into a hood, like LESEL, Alaïa and Lemaire . A black or gray down jacket will certainly be the most practical purchase. After endless discussions about which fur coats are better for the environment, artificial or natural, designers have found an alternative in the form of woolen fur coats. To produce such models, they use sheared animal wool woven into a knitted base. Natural wool provides high frost-resistant properties of fur coats and at the same time does not require the destruction of animals. Woolen fur coats have a number of other advantages: they are easy to care for, resistant to snow and rain, biodegradable, long-lasting, have an affordable price and do not require special storage. Sheepskin coats are, first of all, a style, but opinions are divided as to whether it should be natural tanned sheepskin or artificial material. Therefore, I advise you to follow your principles, style and, of course, possibilities.
