Trust is an important thing. You can have confidence in things, but certainly also in people. Trust is one of the first qualities humans develop. Even as a small child you learn what it is like when you still have a lot to learn and when you have to rely on your parents – and other people – to get ahead in life.
However, sometimes something happens that causes you to lose trust in people or to have a major dent in it. People who have to deal with these kinds of matters as children can experience a lot of problems later. But you can also lose confidence in your fellow human beings later in life. Does this make you doubt whether or not your new lover can be trusted?

6 signs your lover cannot be trusted
Can’t quite put your finger on it, but do you have the feeling that your new love cannot be trusted ? Are you not sure whether that person is (un)reliable? We have listed a number of signals for you from which you can deduce that the other person cannot be trusted. This way you immediately know what to pay attention to. And mind you: trust is really essential in a relationship. If things don’t go well, the relationship is doomed to fail.
1. Two faces
An important sign that you can deduce that someone cannot be trusted is that someone shows two faces. These types are nice to you when they talk to you. But when you’re gone, they talk behind your back. And then it’s a lot less nice. In other words: they gossip like crazy. You often find this out on your own because other people tell you or because you catch them doing it yourself.

2. Different behavior in company
Another sign appears when people are friendly and nice to you when you are alone with them. However, when they are around other people, they act as if you no longer exist. Or then they suddenly say less nice things to you. That is of course not a good sign and certainly indicates that someone is unreliable.
3. Lack of empathy
Some people have a complete lack of empathy. This means that they cannot empathize with the feelings of others and therefore immediately squash them when it suits them. These people can be called unreliable, because if they cheat on you or speak badly about you to third parties, they feel no remorse whatsoever. They probably don’t even know they are hurting you by doing this.
4. Not being able to keep secrets
If you tell your new lover something that other people shouldn’t know, you expect it not to be told further. And certainly not that everyone will know about it within a short time. Does your loved one not take things very seriously with what you tell him or her in complete confidence? Then this person can certainly be called unreliable. The result is not only that your secret is out, but also that you lose trust in this person.

5. Not taking others into account
Someone who often cancels appointments at the last minute and does not take the other person into account at all cannot be trusted either. They do not realize that they are hurting the other person and disrupting the plans that have been made. Unreliable people often have narcissistic traits and think mainly of themselves when they do or say something. They attract all the attention and are never guilty of certain things, according to their own ideas anyway.
Everyone is of course allowed to do things for themselves, but the intention is not to hurt others . When people behave like this, you immediately know that they cannot be trusted.
6. Always lie
Finally, we mention people who lie not only to others, but also to themselves. They twist stories, make things up and eventually start to believe it themselves. To make a story seem credible, they have to go through more and more twists and turns. At a certain point they can’t figure it out anymore, they contradict themselves and then the monkey gets out of hand. That’s the moment you realize: this is a liar.
You cannot trust these people, because they try to cover up one lie with another. Use your instincts if you think something is wrong. You can certainly confront the other person with it. If you don’t like what’s happening or a vague answer is given, definitely consider ending the relationship .
