15 sentences no one wants to see
It could be that they’re using one of these sentences that no one wants to see in a profile text . Because it’s not just about what you say in your bio, it’s about what it says about you. Here are 15 sentences that no one wants to see in a profile anymore.
1. “Hey, text me at ..-……..!”
Too fast, too soon . Your phone number should not be publicly displayed in your profile. What happened to “getting to know each other first”? We recognize this phrase mostly in men’s bios, but if you do this as a woman… any – somewhat intelligent – man will think you are offering paid services.
2. “……do not need to respond.”
Non-whites, men in relationships, conspiracy theorists and so on: you can fill in all these words on the dots. But by excluding certain groups, you exclude more people than you would like. The negative connotation is enough for many to skip you.
3. “Must love …….”
Sushi? Cosplay? Whatever you fill in, the strict requirement may be meant as a joke, but it won’t be taken that way. Chances are, anyone who doesn’t like it will swipe left immediately.

4. “If you ……, then nothing will happen between us.”
Just like the other comments about your list of demands, this sentence doesn’t bode well. Whether you want to exclude smokers or snorers, it limits you to getting matches – matches that could easily be the one.
5. “Don’t swipe right if you’re not going to say anything.”
We’ve all been there: an insta-swipe right leads to an unexpected match with the perfect candidate. But if you open the conversation with a thoughtful opening line , it quickly turns into false hope. Because… no response. Although it’s extremely annoying, even a preliminary remark can’t make a difference. It only brings negativity to your profile.
6. “I don’t know what I’m doing here, but…”
Honestly? We don’t know what you’re doing here either. Because we think you have a really good reason to sign up for a dating app. Are you afraid of being stigmatized as a hopeless dating app user?

7. “My girlfriend signed me up for this.”
How nice that you have friends who are concerned about your dating life. And that after years of urging, they have taken action themselves, because you have been neglecting it for years. So if you say this in your dating profile, what does it say? That you do not take dating seriously and do not have the confidence that a dating app can be successful.
8. “I like to laugh.”
Dating apps are flooded with banal phrases. Those predictable remarks that apply to 99% of the population. Because of course you like to laugh, everyone does. Another phrase of this caliber: “My friends and family are important to me.”
9. “My friends say that I…”
Since everyone has a hard time identifying the good and bad qualities, the common dating advice suggests looking at it from a different perspective. Like the friends example: “If you don’t know what to say, how would your friends describe you?”
This standard sentence is meant to help you beat writer’s block and get a little more creative in your personal description. It’s not meant to literally say, “My friends think I am…” Because if you do, everyone will wonder why you don’t just describe yourself. Lack of self-knowledge?
10. “Not often online. This is my Insta: [@…]”
Believe it or not, promoting an Instagram profile on dating apps is a tactic to increase your followers. And while most men and women are smart enough to ignore it, some fall for it.

12. “The child in the photo is my niece/nephew.”
No matter how cute and heart-warming your nephew or niece is: the fact that you have to indicate that it is not your own child, says enough. Because many do not even read the text and immediately drop out when they see a child, you miss many matches.
13. “Looking for my partner in crime.”
Your partner in crime ? We’re not going to rob a bank to follow in the footsteps of Bonny and Clyde, are we? This line is so cliché that fingers are trained to swipe left like lightning – on to the next one.
14. “I like dogs more than people.”
Sure, we all feel more empathy for dogs than for people. But what are we supposed to do with that as a visitor to your dating profile? Are you so disappointed in humans that you’ve started loving dogs more?
